Appleton™ explosionproof, dust-ignition-proof, watertight AE Series circuit breakers and enclosures are available in 2- and 3-Pole, 15 to 1,200 Amps models for use in areas where hazardous materials are handled or stored.

The non-interchangeable trip circuit breakers and bolted type enclosures offer explosionproof protection with a wide range of options.

The AE Series are designed for overload and short circuit protection as well as control of lighting and power circuits.
Features
  • Explosionproof, dust-ignition-proof, watertight
  • Precision machined flame path between box and cover. O-ring gasket insures watertight integrity
  • 15 to 1,200 Amps, 240 Vac, 480 Vac, 600 Vac, 125/250 Vdc
  • Bolt on stainless steel slotted mounting feet
  • Stainless steel, captive Quad-Lead™ cover bolts are standard (disengaged in 1-1/2 turns)
  • Ground lug package and installation instructions for termination of ground wire enclosed
  • External operating handle with stops for limiting handle travel
  • Breaker operators can be locked in the ON or OFF position (up to 3 padlocks)
  • External flange maximizes internal space
  • Standard outlets top and bottom for line and load wiring. Plugged 1/2" outlets top and bottom for breather and drain
  • Breakers mounted on a galvanized steel removable pan
  • Enclosures are designed to accept GE, Square D, Siemens and Cutler-Hammer B circuit breakers
